The Greatest Day Ever! Fest
The Greatest Day Ever festival was a 2 day event held at the New York Expo Center on July 14th & 15th hosted by Adidas. Not only was it a a music festival; it was also a carnival. The carnival was complete with typical rides, games and food, giving the overall event an authentic feel to it. The festival had big names headlining like Young Thug, Tory Lanez & RL Grime.
Setlist Magazine was fortunate enough to attend both days of the festival; notable performances on the first day were Ugly God and Lil Skies. Both artists brought amazing energy to the crowd, with Skies even coming off the stage to get the crowd heavily involved during his performance. He also featured a XXXTentacion tribute in the middle of his set by playing the X’s hit song “Sad!” and had the crowd join him in crossing their arms in a “ X “ shape in remembrance of the deceased rapper. The following day had big rap headliners Young Thug & Tory Lanez, which surpassed the already-large enthusiasm of the previous day. Tory stage dove multiple times into the crowd, bringing out his inner rockstar. Also during his set, fans of Tory held him up while he stood on their hands during a portion of the performance, while Thugger gave just an overall memorable and well executed performance, during which he brought out long time friend and featured artist, Lil Duke. Day two also featured memorable dj sets from well known producer & DJ, Metro Boomin, in which he played all his hit songs, which was enough to fill his hour long set. Metro wasn’t the only DJ to have a memorable set, however; Kittens also performed a set where she masterfully merged trap & edm music for an unforgettable mashup. The festival was a great experience and we're looking forward to next year.
