Dave East and Styles P at Irving Plaza
Last Wednesday, Dave East hit the stage once again at Irving Plaza. East headlined alongside Styles P for the Hoodies for the Homeless charity event to celebrate the release of their Beloved project while supporting a good cause. Hoodies for the Homeless, created by longtime friends and bandmates, Dustin Youree and Tavis Eaton, directly combines the fight against homelessness with music. The New York duo treats every event not only as a concert, but also as a hoodie-drive for the homeless. The thousands of hoodies collected at each event are distributed to shelters around New York City. East and Styles P, representing the face of modern and old-school rap, performed an hour’s worth of songs off of their collab project and their respective discographies. The classic New York attitude of both artists brought a nostalgic feeling to the donating attendees, garnering massive support for the event. It was a great night for hip hop and for the betterment of New York.
