The summer season and music festivals have been intertwined for decades. Now, more than ever, there is somewhat of a saturation of these types of festivals being thrown. New York specifically is home to many famous festival types of events, and with a season full of festivals, the Billboard Hot 100 festival still manages to pack thousands of eager teenagers into the Jones Beach Amphitheatre. The Hot 100 Fest is an annual festival unlike any other, due to it being held in Long Island, making it a highlight of the summer for the kids in that area.

This year’s festival featuring headlining rappers such as Future, Rich The Kid and Rae Sremmurd. Future’s set featured songs from his full discography from Dirty Sprite 2 all the way to his most recent Beast Mode II EP. The south Atlanta superstar performed to a fully packed amphitheater. Most notable from his set was his performance of “Wifi Lit” for the first time at this venue. Rich The Kid’s performance was noteworthy for his upbeat and high energy performance style. Rap duo Rae Sremmurd had a set at the festival in which they also not only played their classic records like “No Type”, but also performed a wide array of songs from their discography. Billboard also featured many opening acts like Lil Xan, MGK,  & Shoreline Mafia using the large platform they have to give exposure to the smaller opening acts.
