It’s 070 Day in New Jersey; a hot, but gorgeous afternoon. The pop up concert held by North Bergen’s own 070 Crew and their breakout artist, Shake, was almost cancelled due to the murder of XXXTentacion the previous day. Instead, they decided to push through the pain and move the crowd in honor of X. Many moments of remembrance and silence were held. Shake came to the stage strong and full of unrelenting energy, as she jumped over the football field fence and celebrated the life of X and 070 in the arms of her hometown fans by performing bangers such as “070 Freestyle” and even some of her features on Nas' and Kanye’s new projects. Shake is a rising superstar and in no time, she will be a household name all over the world.
When the sun began to fall and the day was winding to an end, the stage in the middle of the field was lit with a group of candles. Shake’s manager, YesJulz, arrived fashionably late to close the ceremony with heartfelt words and enthusiastic engagement with the fans who came to support 070. It was a beautiful day filled with beautiful hearts with nothing but love in the honor of life and success for those who sacrificed to make art in this industry. Rest In Peace, Jahsey Onfroy.
